Amsterdam – Local Perspective

Talking with locals is a way to learn about a new place, enlarge your network and make new friends. Locals want to show the best of their country, that has to offer. We met Gert-Jan Hageman, a chef and a farmer, who converted Amsterdam's municipal park greenhouse into a restaurant. Meeting up was a way to learn about Amsterdam, history of the place and the founder of the restaurant. Volendam A very charming-full village with lively shops and a harbour. There is also variety of restaurants with seafood on the menu. It is a peaceful place to enjoy the sea view from the harbour. We visit Volendam on the same day of the Edam Cheese Market, 15 min away with a bicycle. Blue Amsterdam – Nice to have a quick snack with the view from top of Amsterdam The Pancake Bakery – Where the tradition, one cannot say no to pancakes! 12. Amsterdam sign It’s a beautiful area to have a walk and take photos with the Amsterdam sign. The time we headed there was around 8pm. It was an hour before sunset, so there was still the sun light. [This is in the month of May ;)] At that hour, the place was not that busy with people so one can easily have a photo with fewer crowds. Fun and adventures that as a couple aim to reach tend to give us the opportunity to stick together for good reasons. The world is better when you have someone to share it with; you get to cherries that memory together. For us, this experience taught us different lessons to grow up from them.
